Our client a well known organisation are looking to recruit a Production Controller to start ASAP. Duration 1-2 months. Salary £17.13 per hour.

They are looking for someone with specialist Direct Mail print and production knowledge (not a generalist print controller). Someone who has done it for a number of years either inhouse in a team or working for a printer.

Production Controller

Project manage high volume complex print & direct mail campaigns, as assigned within the team. Ensure that projects are managed efficiently & help maintain the brand in line with Fundraising, Marketing & Comms directorate strategy & aims/object

Duties to include:

To manage print and production for the Individual Marketing team's regular direct mail work (principally the raffle and prize draw campaigns), as well as print projects commissioned by the National Marketing and Services Marketing teams, and other work as assigned by the Print Manager and to ensure that these projects are all carried out to schedule.

Ensure cost and process efficiency's are maximised, including quality control through all production practices.

To progress assigned projects from initial briefing/concept stage through all stages of production to final delivery/dispatch liaising with the production suppliers, creative agencies and internal clients as appropriate. This includes the ability to interpret client brief and data requirements into a brief for the supplier.

To have comprehensive knowledge of the postal industry, advising on requirements for artwork format and data processing, and ensuring cost efficiency's.

To build and develop relationships across the organisation, with suppliers and creative agencies. Ensure our suppliers adhere to service level agreements, escalating issues to the Senior Production Controller as appropriate.

To offer advice and assistance to internal clients on print and production matters, including running in-house training sessions.

To assist in managing, developing and motivating the Junior Production Controller to improve performance and be part of an effective team.

To keep up to date with industry developments.

To carry out ad hoc projects as assigned by the Production and Logistics Manager and Print Manager.
